General Radiology Appointment Preparation

General Radiography (X-Ray)

• Wear loose comfortable clothing, free of the following:
  • Zippers
  • Belts
  • Metal Snaps
  • Thick elastic or seams
  • Decals or embroidery
  • Buttons
• You may be asked to undress and put on a gown to reduce the chance of artifacts on your x-ray images. 
• Please remove the following prior to your appointment:
  • Body piercings 
  • Jewelry
  • Hair clips/bobby pins
  • Hair extensions
  • Braids
• If you have long hair please bring a hair tie with no metal
• If you have a knee or leg x-ray wear pants that can be pulled up above the knee or shorts. 
• If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant please tell your doctor prior to appointment. 
• If you do not speak English please bring an interpreter
• If you need assistance getting changed, please bring someone to assist you 
• If you have mobility issues please let the booking staff know when you are booking your appointment.
